PRINCIPLES OF RW MANAGEMENT

Principle 1: Protection of Human Health

Radioactive wastes shall be managed in such a way as to secure an acceptable level of

protection for human health as per recommendations of ICRP, IAEA, and AELB

Principle 2: Protection of The Environment

Protection of the environment through the following means;

1. The release or disposal of radioactive materials should be minimized and within the

authorized limit

2. Assessment should be done on the impact of waste disposal on human, future
availability and utilization of natural resources
