Safe Handling of Nuclear Gauges and X-Ray Analyzers
Leak test of a sealed source:
▪ It is required by the AELB to be performed regularly.
▪ A sealed source shall be considered leaking if the removable activity of
the test is greater than 185 Bq (5 nCi).
Sealed source: Any radioactive material permanently sealed in inactive container or
capsule, bonded wholly within inactive material, so as to prevent dispersion of
radioactive substance during routine use
