X-ray Analyzers

Two types of X-ray analyzers:

▪ X-ray fluorescence (XRF)

▪ X-ray diffraction (XRD)

Two types of XRF:

▪ Energy-dispersive (EDXRF):

▪ In energy-dispersive XRF, identification of an element is by means of its energy line (from
absorption process).

▪ Wavelength-dispersive (WDXRF):

▪ In the wavelength-dispersive, the element is identified from its wavelength property.
