X-ray Analyzers

          ▪ X-rays will be diffracted/reflected by the materials/crystals only if they satisfy the

             following relationship:

sin  = n sin  - angle of incident to the target material

                                          2d d - inter-atom spacing of the lattice

                                                   - x-rays wavelength and

                                                  n - an integer

          ▪ The scattered X-rays are then measured to indicate the lattice pattern of the material

and this form the basic principle of X-rays diffraction (XRD).

          ▪ A crystal lattice is a three dimensional of atoms in space. The crystal structure could be

             either cubic, rhombic, etc.
