Criteria of Personal Monitoring Devices for External Radiation

Exposure

• The response of the unit to respective exposure

should be independent of the radiation energy

• Should cover the range of exposure from less than 1

mSv to greater than 1 Sv

• The response should not be produced by any other

factors except the radiation measured

• The device should measure all ionizing radiation

• Should be compact, light weight, easy to handle,

comfortable to wear and cost effective
