INTRODUCTION

• All personnel who work in controlled areas (and selectively in supervised

areas) require monitoring as stated in Atomic Energy Licensing Regulations

(BSRP) 2010 (Act 304).

• Occupational exposure to personnel:

• External radiation from sources outside body

• Intake of radioactive contaminants

• Atomic Energy Licensing Regulations (BSRP) 2010 require radiation from
both external and internal sources be evaluated to represent an individual

dose in a year.

• Hence, monitoring devices that is accepted by AELB are required by all

personnel to measure radiation dose received when working with radiation
sources or in classified areas.
