Classification of Work Areas

• Clean area

 Area where the expected maximum dose for that area does

not exceed the dose limit for a member of the public.

• Supervised area

 Work area for which the occupational exposure conditions

are kept under review even though specific protective

measures and safety provisions are not normally needed.
