2. RADON AND THORON DAUGHTERS SOURCES: Raw Materials and residues: storage

and processing areas

• Sources are exposed in open ground or kept in polyester bags

• Can be deposited along the respiratory tract. May cause detrimental effect to the

surrounding cells by depositing α energies.

• Very much influenced by ventilation

• Radon & thoron will be trapped in metal drum if sealed properly.
