EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT

❖Management with the advice of the Radiation Protection

Officer (RPO) must provide and maintain suitable type and

number of emergency equipment

❖There are two categories of radiological emergency

equipment:

i. Detectors and counters

ii. Radiation protection equipment and tools (PPE)

❖Types of equipment used are determined by the quantity of

the radiation exposure, quantity of radionuclides and sources

and types of emergency
