Scintillation Counter
• Scintillation can be produced using solid medium and this is
the underlying mechanism for the sodium iodide thallium-
activated detector, NaI(Tl).
• Measures the light released by a crystal after an interaction
with radiation.
• Consists of crystal NaI(Tl) & Photomultiplier tubes
