• Each package shall have legible and durable mark on

the outside which includes:

• Gross weight of the package if it is more than 50 kg

• Package design type (i.e. Excepted Package, IP, Type A, Type
B(U) or Type B(M))

• Identification marks assigned to the package design by the
authority

• A serial number of the packaging to identify its conformance

to the approved design by the authority

• Packages are also required to be marked with the word

“Radioactive” on their internal surface. The warning

shall be clearly visible upon opening the packages.
