Mitosis
• Prophase: DNA normally in the form of chromatin (two
identical copies - sister chromosomes) attached to each other
by centromere.
• Metaphase: begin to line up in the middle of the cell.
• Anaphase: the chromosomes lined up along the middle of the
spindle
• Telophase: nuclear membrane reforms around the genetic
material
• Cytokinesis or cleavage: the cellular membrane pinches off
between the two newly separated nuclei, to form two new
daughter cells.
