Introduction 2

Despite all the precautions that are taken in the design and

operation of nuclear facilities and the conduct of nuclear

activities, there remains a possibility that a failure or an accident

may lead to an emergency

The objectives of the lesson are to present goals, principles and

basic concepts of emergency response in case of nuclear or

radiological emergencies
