Radiography Incident 56

• This incident was realized only at hours 0530 when the

radiation workers (radiographers) realized that the survey

meter shows the reading is substantively very high

• The survey meter has used only at the end of their job.

• Backtracking from the number blackened films developed, it

was estimated that the workers has been exposed for two (2)

hours.

• Other radiation workers came over to rescue the source and

take the remedial action and successfully retrieve and secured

the Iridium 192 source (activity of 65 Curie) into the lead pot.
